PST helps tennis professionals and weekend warriors overcome painful injuries

PST can relieve tennis elbow and other sports stress injuriesWhat do professional tennis players do when they can no longer grip a racket because of tennis elbow? Retire?

That wasn't the answer Trevor Kronemann, a doubles star on the ATP tour, wanted to hear. In the March 1998 issue of Tennis magazine, writer Mark Winters tells how Kronemann tried Pulsed Signal Therapy to relieve his chronic elbow pain instead, and now is back in top form. Several other famous touring professionals have been treated, including Steffi Graf and Mark Knowles. Graf used PST following her recent knee surgery to help speed healing.

PST has been used successfully on a variety of musculoskeletal problems that can put tennis players out of action, such as torn rotator cuffs and anterior cruciate ligaments, as well as injuries to the lower back, hip, elbow and wrist. Weekend warriors can be particularly prone to these kinds of injuries. PST can help these players get back in the game without having to face the risks of surgery.top (Read about the research)

Paris symposium reconfirms the health benefits of Pulsed Signal Therapy

PST can relieve pain and symptoms of arthritisPulsed Signal Therapy (PST) provides significant benefit to 80% of patients receiving the treatment according to international physicians and medical researchers participating in a recent scientific symposium.

The latest findings on the health benefits of PST in relieving pain and symptoms of arthritis and joint-related injuries confirmed the results of previous studies conducted at Yale University.

An audience of physicians, media representatives, and health care professionals from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and France attended the international symposium held in Paris this past February.

In a series of presentations chaired by Professor Joel Menkes, a pre-eminent French orthopedic surgeon, the clinical success of PST was repeatedly confirmed.

Professor Radaelli, director of the 3,000-bed Milan Hospital, reported on an independent double-blind study of 111 patients. Consistent with earlier U.S. studies, over 80% of patients experienced significant improvement following PST treatment. Results have been so good, in fact, that Dr. Radaelli felt PST could replace many other traditional therapies used at the hospital. Preliminary results of a double-blind study of 60 patients in France [now complete] were reported by Dr. Perrot. While that study is not yet complete, preliminary results mirror the experiences of patients and physicians at Milan Hospital.

Professor Faensen of Berlin reported on the latest results in Germany, where over 100 PST centres are treating nearly 5,000 new patients a month. The size and diversity of patients treated in Germany has given medical professionals there the ability to statistically demonstrate an overall success rate of 80% - no matter which joint is treated.

Dr. Richard Markoll, inventor of the PST technology, reported that worldwide there have now been over 35,000 patients treated. Long-term effectiveness of the treatment, which is being carefully tracked, also shows the health benefits from PST are long-lasting.

Success Stories...

Allan - Arthritis of the Back

Allen Braverman suffered from severe arthritis of the back, the aftermath of a terrible auto accident that nearly killed him twenty years earlier. An active man who enjoyed occasional rounds of golf, eventually he was nearly unable to walk. It got to the point that he couldn't even drive to and from work.

Today, Allan regards his decision to be treated with PST to be one of the best he's ever made. "I was in terrible shape and going downhill fast. I couldn't sleep and was having to take a lot of drugs with side effects that worried me. Now I'm able to do pretty much anything I want, including golf. This treatment literally turned my life around." top

Anna - Polyarthritis

"I am a sixty-seven year old woman. My name is Anna Makhmudova. I have had polyarthritis for thirty years. Back in my country, Azerbaijan, I had tried all kinds of medical treatments to get rid of my illness. Different types of electro-stimulators, petroleum products which were used by doctors for medical purposes - nothing was helping me. Pain and suffering were parts of my life. In order to ease the pain I had to take large doses of painkillers. "Recently I took PST. After the third treatment I got rid of all my pain symptoms. Finally I am able to sleep well without fear of waking up in the middle of the night with sharp pain in my legs. Thank you for PST, a miracle that helped me feel healthy again."

Junior - Knee Injury

A member of the Canadian Football League All-Star Team for seven of his nine seasons, Junior Thurman's professional career eventually was ended by a series of crippling knee injuries. Even after several surgeries on his knees he was unable to walk up a flight of stairs or play with his children without pain.

Junior went into the treatment with a lot of skepticism and not much real hope. He had seen other players with injuries like his get progressively worse, and was resigned to a life of chronic pain. But now his outlook has changed. Within a few weeks of treatment the pain and swelling were gone. He no longer needs his knee brace, and is back jogging on a regular basis. Best of all, he now plays with his kids like a regular dad. top

Joan - Hips, Knees and Neck Arthritis

It seemed to Joan Nicholas that she had always had problems with arthritis in her hips, knees, and neck. "I was always in pain. For years I have taken anti-inflammatory drugs which have unfortunately damaged my stomach."

For Joan, the results of the treatment were almost immediate. "I can honestly say that after two days on the treatment I stopped taking the drugs and I have had virtually no pain since. I strongly advise and recommend this treatment." top

Doctors Answer Questions About Pulsed Signal Therapy

What is Pulsed Signal Therapy (PST)?
Pulsed Signal Therapy, or PST, is a new technological advancement that uses a special high-tech, non-invasive medical device to treat arthritis and sports injuries. The PST device creates a low power electromagnetic field that directs a pulsed signal to the affected area, stimulating the healing process and enabling patients to resume their normal activities.

How does PST restore cartilage and relieve pain?
PST mimics the body's natural signal, activating the normal healing process and stimulating the growth and repair of the cartilage. When bones come together, such as when leg bones meet at the knee joint, our bodies produce cartilage to cushion the bones and keep them apart. Without this cartilage, bone grinds against bone, causing extreme pain. Every day we place enormous strain on our cartilage and over time it tends to wear down or become damaged. When this happens, the body must replace or repair the damaged cartilage.

Researchers have discovered that when cartilage is squeezed between our bones, a low power electrical signal is created. They believe this natural signal tells the body to produce more cartilage, which maintains the health and proper functioning of the joint. Sometimes this signal is disrupted by disease, aging or injury. When that happens, the body is unable to replace the cartilage, and eventually it wears away, causing pain, inflammation, and loss of function.

What is the scientific basis for this treatment?
The technology used in Pulsed Signal Therapy is based on years of scientific research and has been subjected to rigorous scientific review in university laboratories and clinical studies.

In studies at the Cornell University Cartilage Laboratory, researchers found they were able to grow cartilage by placing it in a device that produced a pulsed signal in an electromagnetic field. Also, in a ground breaking series of studies, researchers at Yale University conducted extensive clinical trials following randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled scientific methods. In these studies between 70% and 80% of patients reported reduced pain and swelling, and increased range of motion following their PST treatment. top
